Based in the heart of Cheshire, our brand new 1,100 m2 vertical farming facility is a cutting edge example of the finest British engineering being harnessed to meet the growing needs of an ever-expanding global population.
We have also opened a research and development vertical farming facility in the UK to trial new product ranges. By utilising industry leading technology and specialist salad farming knowledge the custom-built UK facilities result in fresher, longer lasting crops with premium quality available all year round.
PEST, PESTICIDE AND DISEASE FREE
Perfectly Fresh vertical farming facilities are sealed growing environments, meaning that the product is grown in a controlled environment, with positive air pressure to prevent any pests entering the facility. This ensures that insects and other pests cannot get access to the crop – removing the need to use plant protection products on the crop being grown.
Access to the growing area is tightly controlled; only staff growing the crop are permitted, and only after going through strict hygiene protocols and training. The ability to reduce or near-eradicate the risks from pests and diseases results in a much healthier crop with a higher nutrient value.
VARIETY OF CROP
A large variety of produce can be grown including herbs, salad leaves and soft fruit. The wide range of plants that can be grown is a particular benefit where climates are challenging for plant growth.
